FAQs

Travel Planning

Yes, we have a list of hotels that are convenient to the dock in each port of boarding. Most travelers plan to arrive at least a day early to acclimate to the time change and allow for any travel delays. The Indonesia hotel list can be found near the bottom of the Trip Info page.

We recommend booking flights that arrive into the port city no later than 11:00am local time. Boarding time is 12:00pm.

Guests will need to vacate their suites by 10:00am but can remain onboard until 3:00pm if they have flights later in the day.

If you are delayed the U.S. Reservations Office can take your calls Monday thru Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm EST at 800.327.9600 or 954.734.7111.

Please note: this is the main reason we highly recommend travel insurance. The vessel cannot wait unless it’s full charter and then it would be up to the group leader if they wish to wait. If you end up misconnecting with the boat, the Velocean will assist you in finding a speed boat to take you to the vessel, however the cost will be borne by the guest.

All travelers to Indonesia need a passport. It must be valid for at least 6 months from date of entry into Indonesia.

For visits under 30 days, and for pleasure, no visa is required to visit Indonesia.

Yes, there are arrival taxes but they are included in the price of your airline ticket.

Local ground transfers included in the price of your trip. We will provide transfers between the airport and local hotels and the Velocean. If you arrive a day early we can provide a transfer to the hotel and also to the yacht on boarding day.

No, prices are the same for divers and non-divers alike.

We recommend you travel with U.S. dollars (USD) and suggest you purchase some Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) for payment of airline luggage surcharges and any incidentals, if any.

We strongly recommend purchasing dive accident and travel insurance for your trip. In order to maintain our reasonable cost and high level of service, we do not automatically insure your trip against the adverse effects of weather or other factors beyond our control. Your holiday represents a very large investment, and unforeseen circumstances such as named storms, injury or sickness, airline issues, and family emergencies can easily affect your ability to travel.

Diveassure: For annual combination trip and dive accident insurance.

Divers Alert Network: For annual combination trip and dive accident insurance.

Travelex: Travel protection for a single trip. You may choose the TRAVEL SELECT policy and select the optional ADVENTURE SPORTS COVERAGE upgrade which waives the policy exclusions for extreme sports such as scuba diving.
